DAYTON – Local tinkerer Ray Bradley has unveiled his newest invention – a reverse car horn.

“How many times have you been driving and some motherfucker honks you from behind for, like, no reason, but you can’t honk him back because your horn only goes forward? Well, no more!” said Bradley. “Now, you will finally be able to retaliate.”

Bradley’s new patented Reverse Horn® can easily be fixed to the rear bumper of an automobile, and the button to activate it can be mounted onto the steering wheel. When the button is pressed, it sends a radio wave to the horn, which emits a loud blast at anyone behind.

Bradley says his reverse car horn will come in especially handy in the frequent traffic jams in the city.

“When someone honks you from behind in a traffic jam, you’re a sitting duck,” he said. “You’re stuck there, and all you can do is take it from him over and over. Well, now you can honk him right back! And if he does it again, you can honk him back again! And you can fight each other with your horns, although,” he added with a grin, “I made this horn extra loud, so anyone who picks a horn fight with you is gonna regret it!”

Bradley’s reverse car horn has turned out to be very popular amongst local drivers. Since he released it at the beginning of this month, Bradley has sold over 10,000 units. Despite the money he’s made from it, however, Bradley insists the innovative process is its own reward.

“I’ve always liked to tinker with things,” he said. Right now, he says he’s hard at work on his next inventions – the reverse high beam and the reverse oil slick dispenser.

In other news, the Dayton Police Department reported that violent road rage incidents have risen by more than 500% this month.
