YOU’RE CORDIALLY INVITED TO

Our Wedding

ON SATURDAY, THE 20TH OF FEBRUARY TWO THOUSAND AND TWENTY-ONE

Although the COVID-19 pandemic has created much uncertainty, we’ve decided to proceed with our wedding as planned, rather than, say, postponing it to next year when holding it would not pose a public health risk. While the virus is still spreading rampantly through the country, based on consultations with several people, none of whom have any relevant expertise, we feel that by next month it will be safe to gather and celebrate. (Also, we are unable to refund our deposit on the poorly-ventilated banquet hall we booked for the occasion.)

In the interest of health and safety, this will be a small, intimate affair limited to our families and a thousand of our closest friends from around the country.

We understand that these are trying times, and we would never want you to feel pressured to attend something you’re not comfortable with. We believe, however, that trying times reveal the true depth of friendship. They also remind us of what’s truly important: love in the face of fear, doubt, and common sense. Life is short, we only live once, and, as a wise man once advised, we shouldn’t let COVID dominate our lives. We believe that the best way of showing each other how much we care is to risk infecting each other with a deadly virus.

Please find enclosed a full itinerary of the day’s events, along with a waiver absolving us of liability should you happen to contract COVID-19 at our wedding and suffer any resulting illness, injury, or death. If you can make it, please sign the waiver and return it to us along with your RSVP.

We look forward to seeing you there!

James + Jessica
